everything about the Intracranal medication
If the patient came suffering from a severe infection, and the periapical tissues, especially inflamed, then he suffers from something called periodontists.
Meaning that the PDL will be Highly Inflamed.we do a pulp extirpation for him in a normal way, and we remove the Source Of infection, But Still the Periapical tissues are Highly Inflamed.
How can we comfort this patient?!
They said if we wrote for him an Anti-inflammatory or Antibiotic, how many percent will it be reached ? and How much time will it take to reach the whole body and reach the PDL?!
Too much time right!
What do you think if we put our medicine inside the canal, meaning inside the space itself, In this way, it will be reached directly to the periapical tissue
The idea of intracanal medicine in a simple way :
It’s a drug, and this drug can be two things:
It can be anti-inflammatory, meaning it works against inflammation the patient has and it can be anti-biotic due to if we are afraid that there is periapical infection and still exists kill it quickly.
And whether this is anti-inflammatory or anti-biotic until it wraps the whole body, and reaches the PDL, it will deliver in a small amount only , in addition to that it will take a lot of time,
unlike if we put it directly on the PDL, it will improve its condition quickly, isn’t it?
